Introductions, a bit of a game plan for this blog, and a random picture i find hilarious from a movie below:

My name is Josiah Cadicamo, I’m a freshman in college, and i live in Del Norte, Colorado. I’ve been reading avidly since a ridiculously young age, and I started reading fantasy with Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring at age six and I’ve been in love with the genre ever since. From ages 12 to sixteen my reading really took off, I read over 350 fantasy books practically inhaling everything I got my hands on. It slowed down as I hit my junior year in highschool (responsibilities . . .) but I still read a lot, and that span of 4 years has instilled an obsessive interest in stories written or otherwise. I analyze everything story related that I ingest rather thoroughly so I thought I’d put those thoughts down here. This is the main purpose of this blog.

Another result of all that reading when I was young coupled with writing talent led me to start writing my first novel when I was sixteen. Thinking back on it now, the desire to release the pressure of ideas and passion that all that reading fostered and continues to foster within me, was a compulsion that finally found form and release at that time. A lot of people were inspired by Christopher Paolini to write at that time because he had just released his first book, but I had no idea of his existence when I started. Honestly, where the desire to get published is a very real one for me, I will write to the day I die because it brings me joy, regardless of publication or lack there of. I will probably post a little bit on my writing progress, ideas, feelings, and/or anything else writing related that I feel like sharing every once in a while, but mainly I will talk about other stuff.

I’m not a huge critic, nor will I read anything happily. I will be completely honest about my thoughts and feelings about anything that I talk about. I will try to present information and opinions in as inoffensive a manner as possible. My general area of focus will be on Fantasy as a genre, but I will not limit myself to that. Science fiction, fiction, maybe some horror (though I don’t watch it or read it much: and slasher flicks disgust me) will be among other topics and genres I discuss and delve into.

Thank you for reading this, it was kind of long winded so I appreciate your patience, and lastly I reserve the right to change anything I just talked about in the future. I doubt I will though. : )
